Q. Why is it free insulation?
A. Q. Can I get free insulation for my investment property?
A. Investment properties are entitled for up to $1,200 (in gst). So if your quote is less than $1,200 it will be free.
Q. What if I am renting?
A. Renters can ask their landlord or managing real estate agent if they wish to participate in the scheme. If The landlord agrees then you can get the insulation. Q. What if the quote is more than $1,200?
A. The Owner will have to pay the difference of the quote directly to the Installer. Eg. Quote is for $2,000 - the government will pay $1200 on the owners behalf and the owner will pay $800 to the Installer.
Q. What type of insulation will be used?
A. There are a variety of types of insulation available. Check with the Installer the different types they use. Cost will play an important part in choice of insulation. Click here to find out what climate zone you live in and what is the minimum 'R' Value of insulation required.

Q. I have insulation in my roof how do I know if it is effective?
A. If you already have insulation in your roof and it is deemed ineffective, you may still be entitled to the grant. (click below ) to see the definition of 'negligible effectiveness'
