Government Audits

Due to the recent poor publicity that has been received from unscrupulous home insulation installers who are taking advantage of a great government initiative, being the $1600 home Insulation bonus, or free insulation as it is known, the Hon Mr Peter Garrett has announced an increase to the government audit measures.

You can view the full announcement here.

Among the tough new measures are an increase in both field and desktop audits of home insulation installers. Field audits are where a government inspector will come out and check to see if the insulation has been installed correctly (or even at all) and report on the findings, and desktop audits are where we, as installers, provide requested information to an auditor to make sure we are complying with all required rules and regulations.

As luck would have it, Platinum Insulation was recently randomly selected for an audit to make sure we were complying. We looked at the this as a great oportunity to have someone from the government give us assurance that our methods and procedures when it comes to home insulation installation were up to scratch.

As the old saying goes, those with nothing to hide, hide nothing and after insulating 100 homes in 6 weeks we have not had a complaint. We are quite proud of this as it means all the hard work that we have done ensuring compliance and professionalism has paid off, and we can now continue to look after the many homes each week we are installing insulation in.
